• TILLANDSIA CURLY SLIM

There Tillandsia “Curly Slim” it is a genus of plant that belongs to the Bromeliad family, in its natural state it is found only in the tropical and sub-tropical areas of the American continent. Upright growth, with soft curled leaves covered with down. The main feature is that they do not have underground roots, living without soil, they are able to absorb the necessary nourishment from the humidity in the air, thanks to particular anatomical and physiological characteristics present on the leaves and inside the plant, which have allowed adapt in nature to the most diverse environments and hostile climates. They grow spontaneously on treetops and rocks via roots that serve to cling to tree branches. In our climates they adapt perfectly inside homes. They can be placed on any support.

Air plants do not need to be grown on the ground, in fact a support (such as plant holders or pots) that allows them to receive the right light and ventilation is ideal for them.

WATER | once/twice a month immerse completely in non-calcareous water for one minute. To avoid water stagnation, empty the central rosette by turning the plant upside down.

LIGHT | they must be exposed in very bright environments but not in direct sunlight.

TREATMENT | the plant does not like exposure to direct sun at all, as excessively hot rays could burn the leaves and it does not need large quantities of water.

FLOWERING | for all species, light, temperature, nutritional status, genetic heritage, are factors that play an important role in the flowering process and in the intensity of the colours. The flowers are tubular, purple in color, with red bracts, which bloom in spring.
